Honda 750 K0 1969 - Lot 189
Honda 750 K0 1969 No reserve Chassis n°1038366 Engine n°1117546 Belgian registration Good condition 37200 km on the odometer To be restarted (engine not blocked) Sold without CT Introduced at the end of 1968 and marketed from 1969, the CB 750 Four was part of an era marked by major upheavals: the first steps on the Moon, the first flight of Concorde and the release of the film Easy Rider. These events are traditionally associated with the birth of this iconic model. In fact, it was the model that largely shaped the image of the motorcycles we know today. Honda offered a reliable machine, capable of everyday use without heavy mechanical constraints, and introduced on a large scale automotive technologies such as disc brakes. Success was immediate. Nicknamed the "Four Legs", the CB 750 also won acclaim for its robustness, with many models easily exceeding 100,000 km. Its engine was quickly exploited in competition, notably endurance racing, where tuners such as Japauto produced versions up to 950 cm³. The range evolved over the years, and no fewer than seven versions were imported into France over the course of a decade. The K0, K1, K2 and K6 models retained the original styling, with their four characteristic exhausts. The K3, K4 and K5, on the other hand, were never officially marketed in France. Technically, the CB 750 features a 67-hp in-line four-cylinder engine with overhead camshaft, four carburetors, electric starter, five-speed gearbox, hydraulic forks, swing-arm rear suspension and, above all, a hydraulic front disc brake. While not revolutionary in every respect, it was the first mass-market motorcycle to feature this level of sophistication. It reached speeds of almost 200 km/h, making it one of the fastest machines of its day. Its design, including four distinctive exhausts, made a lasting impression. Its reliability, finish and price ensured lasting commercial success until 1977, the last year of production. In all, over 550,000 units were sold.
