Honda C77 DREAM 300 1965 - Lot 180
Honda C77 DREAM 300 1965 Chassis n°1001089 Superb condition French collector's registration More than 1,200 euros in service invoices Sold without CT Appraisal report available This Honda C77 DREAM 300 returned from the collection of our Honda fanatic in 2003. Patience was required to find the missing parts, which are very specific to this motorcycle. The exhaust pipes, for example, were found in Australia! Careful maintenance followed, right up to the present day. It's extremely rare to find a C77 complete with all these original components. A must for motorcycle enthusiasts who have left their mark on history. Soichiro Honda will go down in history as the man who changed the world of motorcycling. He founded his company in 1947, using war surplus Tohatsu motor-generators attached to bicycles. When his supply of engines ran out, he designed his own 50 cm³ two-stroke engine, the first Honda Cub, whose sales exploded. In 1954, he took it upon himself to visit Europe and learn as much as he could directly from the world's best motorcycle factories, including Edward Turner of Triumph, whose industry he would ruin fifteen years later. The two models in the "Dream" series were produced under different codes from 1960 to 1969. They were the first large-displacement motorcycles to be exported en masse by Honda. As well as being reliable and very fuel-efficient, they were very well equipped, with 12-volt electrics, electric starters and other advanced features uncommon on most other motorcycles of the '60s. The Dream C77 was powered by a 305 cc engine developing 23 hp at 7,500 rpm. This model has a unique style and today ranks among the most prized Japanese classics. Addendum: Following a fall, the owner didn't have time to restart the bike, so it's up to the buyer to do the restarting.
