FIAT : The box of tricks Panda 4x4 Country Club - 1995 97,000 original km 3,000 euros worth of recent invoices Sold with Swiss King roof tent (140 x 220cm) Chassis n°ZFA141A0001175652 French registration Favourable CT dated 08/01/2026 The model presented here has been patiently tracked down. Indeed, finding a rust-free Panda 4X4 is no easy task. Purchased from a meticulous collector of low-mileage cars in Charente-Maritime, our example was returned to its owner's stable in 2021. He reluctantly parted with it, but as his family grew, the Panda began to feel "just right". A lot of work has been carried out over the past few years, as nothing is too good for this genial Panda. Two years ago, the owner fitted it with a Swiss King roof tent to take his little family on the road. They criss-crossed France, alternating wilderness camping with cozy overnight stays. Because the Panda can sneak in where others can't, it's a real asset when it comes to finding the right "spot". This Panda is a "Country Club" version, intended to be the chic version of the catalog. With its tartan seats, Veglia dashboard clock and inclinometer, it had nothing to envy the competition. Our Panda also took part in a number of rallies, the Fire 1100's vigor astonishing many participants. It's even said to have offended a few Porsche drivers. The Panda was also present at the famous Camping du Houx, during the Le Mans Classic. Tiny and roomy, simple but with 4-wheel drive, the Panda 4x4 created its own market, attracting a loyal and numerous clientele. This stroke of genius is becoming rarer, so be smart and collect it before anyone else. ThePanda is the fruit of a meeting between two men, Giorgetto Giugiaro and Carlo de Benedetti, short-lived president of Fiat for a few months in 1976. After being turned down by Renault, the former proposed his project to the latter during the summer vacations, and four years later, in 1980, the Panda was launched. A small, minimal and practical car, which turned all its manufacturing constraints (flat windows, visible hinges) into aesthetic advantages, the Panda quickly became a success. In fact, it's the project of which Giugiaro is most proud. The ad said it looked like a "command-car"... Fiat took the joke a step further. In June 1983, the Panda 4x4 became not only the first small city car with 4-wheel drive, but also the first production car to combine this type of transmission with a transverse engine. The Panda 4x4 was developed by Steyr-Puch, the Austrian specialist also responsible for the Mercedes G-Class. The Panda 4x4 engages its rear axle on demand, and is not a permanent four-wheel drive (it does without an inter-deck differential), which lowers its cost price and fuel consumption in front-wheel drive mode. In 1989, the Panda 4x4 was fitted with the 1108cm³ "FIRE" engine already seen on the Panda 1000. Above all, it swapped its carburetor for a Bosch Mono-Jetronic injection system, with no real change in power (only torque, and that's a good thing). In 1995, two versions of the Fiat Panda 4x4 were available: the Trekking and the Country Club, the latter being better equipped than the former.
