Enthusiasts will appreciate its discreet, sleeper look, capable of surprising many on the road! In its Blanc Meije hue, typical of PSA production in the late 1980s, it has clocked up just 89,500 km since leaving the factory. The car is in beautiful original condition and has never been restored. Once installed on board, comfortably seated in the inimitably designed velvet semi-bucket seats, the immaculate interior of this BX is a real plunge into 1980s motorsport: complete instrumentation with characteristic typography, typically Citroën atmosphere but Citroën for sport! The BX has sometimes had the reputation of being poorly finished, but it rarely breaks down and stands the test of time with astonishing robustness. Yet the interior of this example has aged remarkably well, revealing no notable aesthetic flaws. During our test drive, we found that this 16-valve performs perfectly on the road, and that the performance delivered by its racy engine is well up to scratch. Very smooth at low revs and perfectly docile in urban use, this block reveals its full potential from 4,500 to 5,000 rpm, where it unleashes impressive energy and climbs spiritedly to over 7,000 rpm. Aided by its short gearbox, it delivers a rich and particularly pleasant sound, without ever becoming overpowering. In conclusion, this 16-valve GTI remains the most enjoyable BX to drive, and one of the best French sports cars of the 1980s, as well as a comfortable, characterful tourer as Citroën knew how to make!
