Small oblong folio (ca. 31 x 38 cm), 35 plates (including title). Contemporary brown cloth-covered bradel boards, tan morocco basane title label on upper board, title pushed through in gilt (Corners and headpieces slightly worn, light scattered foxing but a good copy). Album of 34 black etchings illustrating the Odyssey, engraved by Beniamino del Vecchio after Flaxman, after the letter and numbered. Flaxman (1755-1826) was a famous English sculptor and draughtsman who gained great renown in Rome between 1787 and 1794 for his neo-classical illustrations of the works of Homer, Aeschylus and Dante, first printed in 1793 and then published.
