Green half cloth covered with pink paper on boards, cover with ornate title page, lithographed in black, laminated, yellow endpapers (traces at the bottom of a few plates but otherwise a fine copy). Extremely rare. Absent from Mennessier de la Lance. Suite of 10 plates finely drawn by A. Baumann and printed by Lemercier, representing saddlery and harness objects. Taken from the Guide du sellier et du harnacheur, a reference work intended at the time for professionals or top-level trainers. With the very beautiful and rare period cover on the front cover. Each highly accurate plate shows objects in situation on one horse, sometimes two, then drawn to scale, with cross-references and indexes at the bottom of the plate; includes dressage devices, items for stables, harnesses, bridles, etc. Bibliographie générale de la France, n°51 of 1851, 892.
