This publication was made possible by a grant of 4,000 francs from the Fondation Bonaparte. Le Morvan undertook to complete it with a second series of plates, less finished and without the serpents, followed by an unfinished supplement of 6 plates in 1924. This is the finest photographic lunar atlas published in France after the work of Loewy and Puiseux.
