Leaves in publisher's green morocco half-calf laced folder with corners (boards rubbed, heavier foxing on some plates, marginal splits on qq. plates, split repaired on verso at corner of text leaf). 47 plates lithographed by Nicollet in Neuchâtel, from the Atlas of Dubois's travels in the Caucasus, Georgia, Armenia and the Crimea. They are accompanied by a title page illustrated with a vignette and five sheets explaining the plates. Numerous beautiful views of Circassia and Abkhazia, the Colchis basin, Georgia (Sighnaghi, Chamchivildé ruins, Imerethia, Satchekéri valley, Mount Kazbek), as well as the great road of the central Caucasus and Crimea (Kerch, Theodosia, Tauro-Scythian port, Bearouf bay). The view in the third series, in full color, depicts the Great Mosque of Yerevan in Armenia.
