[Venice]. ZUCCHI, Francesco. Teatro delle fabbriche piu cospicue in prospettiva della citta' di Venezia... (Venice), nella stamperia di Giambatista Albrizzi, (ca 1750). 2 volumes in-8 oblong (18.5 x 24 cm), title, 54 plates and title, 43 plates. Contemporary marbled fawn basane, ribbed spine, red morocco title-piece, ornate caissons, gilt roulette on the edges, red edges (worm work on the lower cover, dull corners, rubbed headbands and edges, very light spotting on some plates of t.1, margin of the view of Venice short). Albums of views of Venice featuring 97 etchings by Francesco Zucchi (1692-1764), the great Venetian engraver, printed in black on laid paper. Including the beautiful double-page view of Venice and its lagoon. Hardly complete, 97 engravings seem to be the final number of the publication, of which only 90 plates are often announced at best. This work includes engravings by Zucchi that were later included in Forestiere Illuminato, as well as other views of Venice, including private residences, palaces, churches, canals and bridges. Cicognara, 4381 (which includes only the first part of 45 plates): "bella pianta di Venezia in piccolo... molto preferibile a quella del Formaleoni".
