ESCUYER, Pierre. - Lot 131
ESCUYER, Pierre. Atlas pittoresque de Genève, ou collection des vues les plus intéressantes de cette ville. A Genève, chez l'Auteur, 1822. In-4 oblong (approx. 21 x 30 cm), 12 pp. 21 plates (including frontispiece), contemporary blue marbled paper cover, untrimmed (very slight foxing). First edition of this sought-after album. Suite of 20 of the 40 attractive copper-engraved views of Geneva by Pierre Escuyer (1749-1834), forming the first part of this picturesque and documentary atlas of Geneva. Preceded by 12 pp. of explanations of the plates and an engraved title-frontispiece. As the plates are often sold by the sheet, it is rare to find them together in an album.
