Rare Art Deco hand-knotted rug from a French manufacturer working in North Africa. The design features a central eight-pointed star motif and four squares arranged around it. The whole stands out against a black background. A powerful decorative motif. Carpet made by a workshop that can probably be identified. We know that a designer (cartonnier) produced a series of rugs in connection with the rediscovery of Coptic textiles and ancient mosaics. Good condition. Wear Circa 1925 308 x 210 cm
