BOUCHERON Paris - Georges LENFANT Workshop, “Palmettes” Mode - Lot 162
BOUCHERON Paris - Georges LENFANT Workshop, “Palmettes” Model, Circa 1945 Retro bracelet in 750‰ yellow gold with a stylized leaf-motif chain composed of alternating semicircular links and protruding angular links. Hook clasp concealed within a link. Signed “Boucheron Paris.” Made in France, with the diamond-shaped hallmark of the Georges LENFANT workshop. Length: 19 cm. Link width: 2.7 cm. Weight: 85.4 g. (Shows signs of wear, with minor dents and dings on the reverse side). Comes with a case from the House. Created in 1945, the “Palmettes” bracelets and necklaces are iconic designs from the House of Boucheron in the immediate postwar period. They are also a magnificent example of the revival of designs from the Atelier Georges Lenfant for the Parisian jewelry houses on the Place Vendôme, following the upheavals of recent years. Bibliography: CLAIS, A.-M., and LASOWSKI, P. W., *BOUCHERON: La capture de l’éclat*, Editions Cercle d’art, 2005, Paris; illustration 159 shows a reproduction of a “Palmettes” necklace. The catalog entry specifies that this is a Lenfant design from 1945 and that “certain models could be separated into two bracelets.”
