Since the 1920s, Atelier PÉRY & Fils has been a key manufacturer for Van Cleef & Arpels, from the "Zip" model to the "Passe-partout", the "Pelouse" and the "Ludo". Clip-back brooches played an important role in his creations, with both animal and figurative subjects, the latter being rarer. The "Marin à l'accordéon" model was created in 1939 for Van Cleef & Arpels.
