French work from the late 19th century Oval silver 800‰ and rose gold 750‰ brooch with floral and foliate motifs accented with fine button pearls and rose-cut diamonds. Pink gold 750‰ pin. Diamond hallmark of Atelier Théodule BOURDIER. Diameters of pearls: from 3.3 to 4.5mm approx. Dimensions: 1.9x4.3cm. Gross weight: 6.8g. Théodule BOURDIER (1837-1898) received his inscription in 1863. Through his marriage in 1872 to Marie Françoise Griffeuille, he became Alfred Cartier's brother-in-law. Specializing in wedding baskets, Bourdier was a supplier to the Imperial Court of Russia. He was awarded a Gold Medal at the Paris World's Fairs of 1878 and 1889, and took part in the Chicago International Exhibition in 1893.
