Very large plan in 24 black copper-engraved leaves (174 x 145 cm), mounted on canvas and folded (28.5 x 36 cm folded), nicely watercolored (2 very pale wet spots but a fine copy). Handwritten label on verso pasted on the orange-tinted canvas. Description of the lower cartouche replaced at the time by a handwritten description pasted on. Large engraved cartouche with allegorical figures. The publication of this impressive plan of Paris, the first edition of which appeared in 1763, earned its author L.-F. Deharme the title of topographer to the king, even though it was based on the work and publications of Delagrive. However, Deharme took his title and function to heart, publishing 9 successive editions, the last in 1795. Each edition includes corrections and additions, and this one, published in 1788, is distinguished by new updates, including the Fermiers Généraux enclosure, the disappearance of the grand boulevard de la Porte Saint-Antoine, the opening of rue Amelot, and new buildings on rue de Clichy. Boutier, 272 H.
