Contemporary green half calf, smooth spines with gilt decoration, gilt decoration, title and tomaison, marbled edges (spine faded, some rubbing). A fine copy of the first French edition. Published the year after the English original, it features 2 black portrait-frontispices and 4 color engravings. Following Morier's text is a Mémoire sur Trébizonde by Beauchamp and a Voyage à Chyraz by Scott-Waring, translated by Eyriès. Three volumes of text alone without atlas: Volume 1, XXIV-351 pp. 3 plates including frontispiece; Volume 2, [IV]-346, [1] f.
