Large heliogravure printed on silk from an original photograph by Berlin architect and photographer Max Junghäendel, born 1861. In small folio format (25.2 x 35.2 cm), mounted on cardboard and mounted in marie-louise with gilded paper bias (45 x 55 cm). Stamped title and text at bottom of frame. (Silk very slightly wavy on the right-hand side, mat slightly oxidized and edges a little rubbed, but a fine copy). A very rare Orientalist photograph on silk. From the very small number of deluxe prints produced for the only German edition, on paper, of Aegypten, Heliogravuren nach Original-Aufnahmen mit Vorwort und erläuterndem Text von Georg Ebers, herausgegeben von Max Junghaendel, published by Cosmos in 1894.
