In sheets, in-12 format. 7 gouache figures, sometimes captioned in German in brown ink, on watermarked laid paper (a few freckles and stains) depicting a General der Janitscharen, a Thorbadchi, an Asiatischer Türk, a Soulac or a Serdinquesti... Models or studies for suites of engravings produced in Europe in the 18th century. Some of these drawings appeared in Unterweisung in den vornehmsten Kunsten und Wissenschaften zum Nutzen des Schulen... by J. Ch. Adelung in 1785. The features are elegant and the colors vivid.
