(Slight small discharges due to the glue dots fixing the sheet). Study drawn in pencil, watercolored in color, in the Orientalist style of the early 19th century, reminiscent of Delacroix's Moroccan sketches or the languid scenes of Ingres and Gérôme. XXXVI of Voyage à Athènes et Constantinople, ou collection de portraits grecs et ottomans, vues et costumes... published in 1825, whose figures were painted on site from life by Louis Dupré (1789-1837). History painter and lithographer, appointed official painter to Jérôme Bonaparte in 1811, he received a pension in 1814 to study in Italy, where he spent time between Naples and Rome, before leaving for Greece and Turkey in the company of Englishmen.
