VOLKSWAGEN: Daily driver for connoisseurs - Lot 28
VOLKSWAGEN: Daily driver for connoisseurs Golf III GTI - 1992 Chassis n°WVWZZZ1HZW009341 French registration Ultra-complete history Rare condition Charming configuration Many interesting options Favourable CT dated 11/12/2025 Serviced for sale Our Golf III GTI now has 123,236 km and is in irreproachable condition, inside and out. We were also impressed by the fact that it came with a complete set of papers. This GTI was ordered new on March 1, 1992, two months after it went on sale in France, by a police officer and regional table tennis champion (!) based in Beaulieu-sur-Mer in the Alpes-Maritimes. He didn't go to the nearest Volkswagen dealership, but to a specialist in new vehicles with discounts, based in the 11th arrondissement of Paris. This was a common practice in the years 1990-2000: agents had made a specialty of importing "trendy" new vehicles at a lower price than the catalog price. The file includes a handwritten search and import warrant, followed by a provisional registration certificate. New price: F99,941, 8% off the catalog price! Registered "1981 YA 06" on August 17, 1992, this 3-door Golf GTI is of Swiss origin. In Alpine White, it features Jacquard (WT) sports interior and the optional electric sunroof. A glass sliding sunroof with blackout blind, a new feature on the Golf III compared with its predecessor. Then we find the service booklet, with all the invoices for servicing carried out at Volkswagen in Nice from 1992 to 2022, as well as all the technical inspections and on-board manuals! Conscientious and in love with his GTI, its owner visited the dealership every year, even if he only covered 3,000 km a year. As soon as he received the car, he had Volkswagen Nice install the electric antenna, a compulsory accessory for driving on the coast. In the spring of 1996, in anticipation of a summer that was likely to be hot, our owner had an air-conditioning system fitted - by the dealership, of course! Cost: 12,000 francs. At the time, his Golf GTI had just 21,627 km on the clock. In 2002, our ever meticulous owner again had original fog lamps added at the dealership. By 2016, our Golf had passed the 70,000 km mark. Its first owner kept it until October 2017. In early 2018, the new owner undertakes a service at Volkswagen Montauban. On the repair order, the dealership's workshop manager states in large letters: "take great care of the car, which is NEW", with the word NEW in capital letters and highlighted! Note that in 2021, the ignition will be rebuilt, the power windows changed, the exhaust replaced and the timing replaced. This GTI will appeal to meticulous enthusiasts as much as to GTIsts who don't want to drive Spartan!
