HERMES, "Graine des champs" Collection - Lot 250
HERMES, "Graine des champs" Collection 925 ‰ silver bracelet with links stylizing oat grains. Toggle clasp concealed in a link and safety bar. Signed "HERMES". French work, diamond-shaped hallmark of Atelier Société LABARTE. Length: 19.5cm. Mesh width: 0.7cm. P. : 36,2 g. Our bracelet underlines the links that may have existed between the Maurice LABARTE and Georges LENFANT workshops in the creation of bracelets and necklaces with the most original links. This type of mesh, called "grain d'avoine", as well as the model of our bracelet, are reproduced in Jacques Lenfant's book, Le Livre de la Chaîne, pages 52 and 63 (Editions Scriptar SA, 1996). In the 1960s and 1970s, Maurice LABARTE, an artisan jeweler and chain-maker, produced exclusive pieces for Atelier Georges LENFANT, notably using the "paillette" and "oatmeal" mesh processes. In the 1970s, Jacques LENFANT and Maurice LABARTE jointly filed several patents for manufacturing processes and new jewelry chains (notably for "optical" effect pressed mesh), underlining the dynamism and importance of their partnership.
