RADDE, Dr. Gustav, Die Chews'uren und ihr Land (ein monographischer Versuch) untersucht im Sommer 1876, Editions Theodor Fischer, Cassel, 1878 In-8 (23.5 x 15.5 cm), text in German, VIII-355-[5] pp, fig. and 14 plates including one map. Later pink half-percaline with corners, smooth spine, gilt title (spine faded). First edition. Very detailed study of the province of Khevsourétie, with numerous reproductions of characteristic Khevsour (Xevsur) costumes, some in color. This precious work was translated 3 years later and published in Russian in Tiflis (Tbilisi). The illustration consists of 13 plates, some in color, and a fold-out map with colored borders, inserted on the lower back cover. On the title page: publisher's stamp and bookplate of Dr. Goetz, and stamp of König (owner in Vienna, Austria). Provenance: E.J. Brill Ltd, Leiden, Netherlands.
