BOUCHERON Paris, 1960's - Lot 97
BOUCHERON Paris, 1960's "Eglantine" lapel clip brooch in 950‰ platinum and 750‰ yellow gold, the petals adorned with translucent yellow enamel on a guilloché ground, the pistil set with brilliant-cut diamonds, the leaves with 8/8-cut diamonds and the stem with baguette-cut diamonds. Pins in yellow gold 750‰. French work, Diamond hallmark of the Atelier de Jean-Thierry BONDT. Signed "BOUCHERON PARIS" and numbered "18145". Dimensions: 4.5x1.9cm. P. Gross weight : 15,3 g. Particularly active for the Maison Boucheron, Jean-Thierry Bondt's Atelier produced a large number of jewelry and watchmaking pieces featuring decorative and hard stones. The Atelier's enamelled pieces are rarer on the market: flower petals (eglantines, roses), snail shells or butterfly wings, these objects demonstrate the Atelier Bondt's qualities in the art of enamelling. The "Eglantine" model by Maison Boucheron, created between 1950 and 1955, was produced in several color variations. Bibliography: NERET, Gilles, Boucheron Histoire d'une dynastie de joailliers, Pont Royal, 1988, p. 171, for a reproduction of a similar model.
