PHOTOGRAPHIES. RUSSIA XXth. [Daily life of Russian children and families in the 1950s]. Album of 41 black silver prints. In-4 oblong format (19 x 29.5 cm). Ca 1958-1960. The date terminus a quo of 1958 can be posited as it appears in one of the photos on a sort of commemorative cartel. Dull red cloth, small oblong folio with screws to hold the tabs supporting the strong paper on which the prints are laminated, recto and verso. A series of shots following what seems to be the daily life of children, notably in a school or sometimes some kind of political association, of families, of women, moving from portraits to group photos, sometimes showing simple, uncluttered views of the station with the trains or of the city... Superb photos taken with an SLR, whose professional and artistic quality is clear to see. Unfortunately, we were unable to identify the photographer in time. Traces of moisture and soiling throughout, but the prints are in very good condition.
