In-4, 233 pp, one plate, contemporary shagreened basane, smooth spine, gilt roulette on spine and boards, blue speckled edges (minor rubbing to binding, missing headpieces, unruly quires, marginal ink spotting and spotting). Encyclical letter written in the XIIᵉ century by Nerses Shnorhali, catholicos of the Armenian Church, dealing with faith, ecclesial unity, and Christian morality. The work also denounces the corruption of the clergy and reflects the social, legal and family realities of the time. An essential testimony to medieval Armenian religious and national thought. Illustrated with a copperplate engraving.
