His drawings of Jerusalem and the interior of the pyramids were the first to be published in Europe, and this work (for the 1700 original) the first in the world to contain etchings printed in color using a process by Johannes Teyler (for 2 copies).
Provenance: English library of Robert d'Aroy, Earl of Holdernesse, with his ex libris engraved with the arms on the endpapers. Motto "Un dieu, un roy".
Binding slightly worn, but a good, fresh copy.
