Piazza, 1897. 128 pp. Maroquin burgundy, large format in-4, spine with 5 raised bands, authors, title, place and date gilt, compartments decorated with gilt irons with cord motifs, border of boards composed of a set of fleurons of the same cord type, with flower in spandrels, guilloche-covered edges, morocco-edged counterplates decorated with the same garland and gilt fillets, gilt head, untrimmed, cover preserved in fine, beige cloth slipcase. A magnificent copy in contemporary morocco signed by Moorthmers frères Anvers. Famous work illustrated on every page with compositions by the painter Alfons Mucha (1860-1939): 132 color lithographs, 10 ornamented letters, culs-de-lampe and fleurons, and cover compositions.Rare. Limited edition of 252 copies, one of 180 on Arches à la forme (no. 102), containing the definitive state of the illustrations. Slight rubbing on one cover and one corner, foxing on the upper endpapers, small tears on the slipcase; transfers not serious.
