Modern half-maroquin in large in-4 format, spine ribbed, author and title gilt, embossed cover preserved. Very rare. With black or sepia etchings on laid paper by Daubigny, Millet, Carot, Courbet, Moreau or Jacquemart, as well as a lithograph by Chassériau.Autograph signed letter from the author, on the false title, to Emile Baumgart in his capacity as former administrator of the Manufacture de Sèvres. Binding slightly rubbed, but a fine, fresh copy.
