Translation into German by the theologian and orientalist Johann David Michaelis (1717-1791), of the Arabic Grammar first published by Erpenius in 1613, accompanied by an Arabic Chrestomathy. Erpenius' Grammatica arabica was a great success, and was reprinted many times over almost two centuries. Two sheets of old handwritten notes bound on either side of the book.
