First edition.A treatise on pathology by the German physician Eberhard Gockel (1636-1703), personal physician to the Prince of Württemberg. Only one reprint was found in 1722. The illustration consists of 10 black copper-engraved plates, including a fold-out frontispiece portrait of the author by Georg Andreas Wolffgang, two fold-out plates on pages 308 and 512, and a small plate (approx. 6 x 9 cm) pp. 146. Restored spine in old laid paper, foxing, ink stains on pp. 506, frontispiece creased in one corner.
