Rare and beautiful autograph letter signed to Dr. Gregory Stragnell (American neuropsychiatrist 1888-1963), Berggasse 19, Vienna, November 28, 1920. Freud thanks his correspondent for a request concerning an article he is unfortunately unable to supply, as he is excessively busy with his work. He also explains that all his articles are now entrusted to the Internationale Zeitschrift für Psychoanalyse "da ich ärztlich sehr beschäftigt bin u. die bereits begonnenen Arbeiten für unsere Internat. Zeitschrift bestimmt sind". He goes on to write that he is of course very pleased to hear that his work is widely followed in the USA, although he has also heard that Jungian modification, which he rejects, has many followers there: "ich... höre daß die Jung'sche Modifikation, die ich ablehne, dort viel Anhänger gefunden hat".Doctor Gregory Stragnell was also an editor, which explains his request for an article. He was married to the daughter of the eminent neurologist Smith Ely Jelliffe.
