BUFFON (Georges-Louis, comte de). Signed letter. [Paris] Jar - Lot 11
BUFFON (Georges-Louis, comte de). Signed letter. [Paris] Jardin du Roy, February 9, 1762. 2 pp. in-8 oblong. Buffon, ill, begs a friend or protector [Maurepas?] to "[...] speak again to M. Rollin (1) who refuses to pay a prescription of 3825 livres that M. Geoffroy de Montjay gave me in January for part of my appointemens and the upkeep of the Jardin Royal in 1761. Six months ago, M. Rollin already made the same refusal [...]". He then mentions the plan, health permitting, to go out and dine with his correspondent and with M. de la Marche. Finally, he assures him of his gratitude. The top of this letter is torn.
