[Manuscript]. Ուսումն բժշկութինէ [Treatise on Medicine]. [ca. 19th century]. In-4 (ca. 20 x 17 cm.), [3] f., 289-[1] p., [106-22] f. (loose or flying quires, soiling), Armenian binding full contemporary tan basane (as is). Armenian manuscript containing a copy of an ancient medical treatise, given as an apprenticeship gift to a future doctor. A living testimony to the learned medical tradition, it combines theoretical knowledge with practical remedies. Over the years, its owner has added personal handwritten notes, testifying to his training and experience. The last 22 leaves contain annotations in Armenian, Ottoman Turkish (in Armenian letters) and Georgian, testifying to a multicultural and polyglot context. The manuscript also includes several illustrations, 3 diagrams and medical tables, making it a unique document, at once scientific, personal and intercultural.
