Extended first edition of the Commentary on the Seven Catholic Epistles by Sargis Shnorhali (Sargis the Gifted), an 11th-12th-century Armenian theologian, priest and philosopher. This work, a monument of medieval Armenian theology, was first published in Constantinople in 1744 in two versions: a short one and an extended one. The two-column text is delicately framed and decorated with woodcut lettering.
