First edition. Work in Latin and Armenian by Johann Joachim Schröder (1680-1756), one of the first in-depth studies of the Armenian language. It opens with a 64-page essay on the antiquity, destiny, character and usage of the Armenian language, followed by 408 pages dedicated to its grammar. The first four pages of this section feature copper-engraved alphabetical tables. The work also includes a copper-engraved vignette and an index. Schröder analyzes the grammar of grabar (classical Armenian) and ashkharhabar (modern Armenian), covering phonetics, etymology, dialects, Armenian music and versification (pp. 246-248).
