[Manuscript]. Հայր Անդրէաս ծայրագոյն վարդապետ կուտինցւոյ [Father Andreas, supreme vardapet of Kütahya]. Ի վերա գլխաւորութիւն Սրբոյ Աթոռոյն Հռովմայ [On the primacy of the Holy See of Rome]. Theological manuscript by Father Andréas, supreme vardapet of Kütahya and disciple of Mkhitar Sebastatsi, founder of the Mekhitarist Congregation. The book deals with the primacy of the Holy See of Rome and relations between the Armenian Church and the Catholic Church. Adopting both a doctrinal and historical approach, it highlights the legitimacy and central role of the Catholic Church in the Christian tradition. The first part of the text develops the theological foundations of papal primacy, as well as avenues for rapprochement between the two Churches. The second part of the manuscript contains a chronological list of popes, from Saint Peter to Gregory XVI (pontificate of 1831), with brief biographical notes on each. This manuscript illustrates Armenian Unionist thought in the XIXᵉ century and bears witness to the intellectual influence of the Mekhitarists in the dialogue between Rome and Armenian tradition.
