The Élégie de la prise d'Édesse par les musulmans, composed in 1144 by Nersès IV Chnorhali Klayetsi, is a major poetic work of medieval Armenian literature. It is presented here in a modern Armenian translation by Zohrabian Hovhannes, based on the original classical Armenian text and enriched with variants taken from manuscripts from different Armenian regions. The work has a title page in French and another in Armenian. It contains a 6-page author's note in French by J.S.M.
