[Manuscript]. Շարակնոց [CHARAKNOTS]. [before 1734]. In-12, (approx. 13x9.5 cm.), 708 p., contemporary Armenian binding in full tan basane, smooth spine, red edges, decorated with La Sainte Jérusalem at the head (boards, spines, elbows and headpieces rubbed, spine cracked, corners dull, marginal soiling and dampening). This superb copy of the Charaknots (Book of Sacred Songs of the Armenian Church), produced in 1734, is copied on fine white parchment. It is distinguished by the exceptional quality of its ornamentation. The manuscript features two finely illustrated altar bands, predominantly in red tones, subtly enhanced by blue details. The margins are also decorated with delicate ornamental motifs in the Armenian tradition. Lettering is carefully designed in a classical style, and important passages in the text are highlighted in red and orange, emphasizing their liturgical function. The whole offers a harmonious balance between calligraphy, color and structure, testifying to the artistic mastery of XVIIIᵉ century scribes. Provenance: A stamp, bearing the monogram: "Քրիստոսի ծառա Պետրոս 1183" (Servant of Christ, Petros, year 1734).
