Harutyun Avgerian, also known as Pascal Aucher (1774-1854), was an Armenian linguist, lexicographer and translator, member of the Mekhitarist Order of Venice. The author of many major works, he is particularly renowned for his contributions to the English-Armenian, French-Armenian and Italian-Armenian dictionaries. Avgerian has also distinguished himself through his outstanding translations from several languages.
