NI'MATULLAH RUMI. Persian dictionary by Ni'matullah b. Ahmad b. Mubarak al-Rumi (d. 1561), Ottoman Empire, 18th century. Manuscript in Persian and Ottoman Turkish, text in black riqa' of 19 lines, modern paper-covered binding, bookplate of Charles de Vendegies. Size: 21 x 13.5 cm (binding) Provenance: Charles de Vendegies, circa 1880 This work is divided into three sections: verbs, particles and cases, and nouns. Two other copies of this Persian-Turkish dictionary are in the National Library of Scotland (inv.884, dated 1714) and the British Library (Or 16220; dated 1588).
