Map illustrating the author's native village of Saghmkay as it was in 1914, on the eve of major upheavals in the region. Made by Mardiros Balayani, it is dedicated to his compatriots in exile, as a testimony to collective memory. On the right-hand side of the card is a short poem in homage to the village, written in 1932 in Iran by T. Shédikian (Թ. Շէտիկեան), emphasizing nostalgia, attachment to the native land and memory preserved in the diaspora.
