Large In-4, LIV-[1]f.-236-[4] p., including 29 plates, full contemporary blue morocco, spine has 4 nerves decorated with gilt pointelin, case decorated with gilt fleuron and fillete, gilt title and author, gilt edges, in marbled slipcase, (bel éxampliere). This is the first complete edition of Chota Roustaveli's 12th-century Georgian epic poem, translated into Russian by Constantin Balmont. The edition, printed in an edition of 800 copies (750 of which on esparto paper), includes a trilingual introduction (Russian, French, English) and is enhanced by 29 out-of-text illustrations by Mihály Zichy, including three portraits, one color plate and 25 bistre illustrations, inspired by the Georgian deluxe edition of 1888.
