[Paris]. DELAGRIVE (Jean). Plan détaillé de la Cité dédié à Messire Louis Basile de Bernage, conseiller d'état prévôt des marchands et à messieurs les échevins de la ville de Paris. S.l., s.n., 1754. 1 copper-engraved plan, approx. 47 x 82 cm (margins slightly short, very discreet foxing). Plan of the Île de la Cité, drawn by Jean Delagrive in 1742 and engraved by Bourgoin le jeune, showing the dense urbanism of the period with its narrow streets and emblematic monuments. It shows Notre-Dame Cathedral to the east, the Palais de Justice and Place Dauphine to the west, and the quays and bridges linking the island to the rest of Paris (Pont Saint-Louis, Pont Saint-Michel, Pont de Notre-Dame and Pont Neuf). This plan shows how the island was organized before the major Haussmann transformations of the 19th century. (Boutier, 246/1).
