Dom ROBERT (1907-1997) "Compagnons de la Marjolaine" (Companions of the Marjoram) Aubusson tapestry in polychrome wool decorated with stylized wild ponies in a vegetal environment. Note: The subject of this tapestry refers to Dom Robert's stay in the English countryside of Devonshire, where he admired the wild ponies at liberty. The signature "F. Robert", evokes a period in his life when he acquired the status of Brother. Just as he had acquired the title of "Dom" on becoming a priest in 1937. Provenance: Private collection, Paris region
