Gustave MIKLOS (1888-1967) Colored pencil drawing on paper Signed lower right "G.Miklos Circa 1925-1930 H : 16 cm L : 10 cm Note: The posture of the beast, the detail of the binding and the part of the bowl in this drawing are to be compared with the granite bowl, decorated with two bronze elements known as "bêtes affrontées", that Miklos made for Jacques Doucet in 1927 (sold at Camard et Associés on 6/10/2004, no. 53). Also, the type of frame used for this drawing comes from Enseigne du Cerceau, which had acquired a whole series of drawings directly from Miklos' widow. We would like to thank the Gustave Miklos committee for the additional information they were able to provide on our drawing.
