LE COMTE (Louis). The ceremonies of China. Liège, Daniel Moumal, 1700. In-12, (4)-183-(2) p., period speckled brown calf, spine ribbed, gilt title (headbands and corners worn). Letter addressed to the Duc du Maine by the Jesuit Louis Le Comte (1655-1728) on the subject of the religion of the Chinese and the role of the Missionaries of the Society of Jesus in Asia. Cordier Sinica gives several editions at the same date under this title, but with different paginations. The text appeared a first time, again in 1700, under the title : Lettre à Monseigneur le Duc du Mayne sur les Cérémonies de la Chine. (Cordier Sinica, I, 387).
