Text only, without the atlas, of this revised and expanded second edition published for the 1931 Paris International Exhibition. Composed of four parts: 1. from the beginning to the Treaty of Tien-Tsin (June 1885) 2. From the peace treaty to the creation of military territories (1891) 3. Expulsion of the pirtaes (1891-1896) 4. From 1896 to 1930. The illustration comprises 43 plates, each with one to four photographic reproductions. Handwritten ex dono dated 1932 from General Bigault du Granrut to Brigadier General Allegrini; handwritten bookplate dated 1951 "Hoan Xuan Han".
