Rare petit Montmorency-type naval officer's saber with partially blued blade and gold-engraved decoration of arms trophies and foliate scrolls. The openwork hilt features a rooster with flags and ribbon, and a gold and blue enameled medallion marked LA NATION. LA LOI. ET LE ROI around an anchor and three fleurs-de-lis. The word Roi and the fleurs-de-lis have been crossed out. The handle is sheathed in leather and gilded metal filigree, ending in a lion's head pommel.
Black leather scabbard with three brass elements and two lugs.
