Pair of cast and chased silver candlesticks A pair of Louis XVI silver candlesticks Paris, 1789 Master silversmith: Julien Petit or Boulogne-Petit, received master in 1765 H. 30 cm; total weight: 1.805 g. The tripod circular base with three projections, fluted umbilicus, underlined by three acanthus clasps in appliqué enclosing a frieze of flowered posts. The fluted balustered shaft is decorated with foliate garlands and topped by a frieze of floral posts and water leaves. The tap is gadrooned and fluted. A pair of Louis XVI-style silver-plated bobèches is included.
