The small, flattened pear-shaped bottle is made of ribbed ruby glass, with a demarcation between the body and the neck. It rests on an oval, domed silver-gilt pedestal with a wavy rim, engraved with scrolls, shells and foliage on a background of scales and chain links. At the neck, a ring edged with a wavy collar is surmounted by a small cylinder serving as a receptacle for a small dome-covered stopper, with a wavy collar and topped by a seed. (A label formerly affixed to the underside of the foot read: Hodgson Bequest 14).
Condition: good
